Failure alerts

Updated August 19, 20261 min read

A channel can stop working through no fault of yours — for example, WhatsApp dropped the session because the phone was offline too long, or Meta revoked access to Instagram. Chato tells you right away instead of staying silent until your next visit to the cabinet.

What Chato sends

  • Needs reauthorization — the channel is alive, but access needs to be confirmed again (scan a QR code, refresh a token). Usually fixed in a minute.
  • Channel disconnected — for example, due to non-payment (see Plans and billing) or an error that didn't resolve on its own.

Notifications go to the workspace email. You can also set them up on Telegram in Settings → Failure alerts — useful if you check email less often than you'd like for a work channel.

If a channel needs reauthorization but the email got lost (for example, into spam), the status is always visible in the Channels section: a yellow dot next to the channel signals a problem with no notification needed at all.

Why it matters

While a channel is in "Needs reauthorization" status or disconnected, none of the customer's new messages through it come in — they're not lost on the messenger's side, but they don't show up in Chato either until the channel is restored. The sooner you find out about a problem, the less downtime you get.
