Plans and billing

Billing per channel, not per account

Chato doesn't run a single bill for the whole workspace — every connected channel is billed separately, on its own plan. That means you can keep WhatsApp on the top plan while Instagram, where you get fewer inquiries, stays on a simpler one — and only pay for what you actually need. Manage a channel's plan and see payment history under Subscriptions.

If a payment doesn't go through on time

Payment is charged automatically before the renewal date. If the charge fails (for example, insufficient funds on the card):

  1. The channel doesn't get disconnected right away — a grace period of about 3 days starts.
  2. During that time the channel keeps working normally — you can update your payment method in Subscriptions → Payment method without any rush.
  3. If payment still hasn't gone through, the channel is disconnected at the nearest daily cutoff — 22:00 Almaty time. For example, if the grace period ends at 2 PM, the channel isn't disconnected right away, but that same evening.

A notification about a failed charge goes to the workspace email right away — don't wait to visually check a channel's status in the cabinet to realize it's time to update your card.

A disconnected channel

A channel disconnected for non-payment isn't deleted — its conversation history is kept. As soon as payment goes through, the channel resumes automatically, with no need to contact support.

Changing a plan

You can upgrade or downgrade a channel's plan at any time in Channels → the channel → Plan — the change applies immediately, and any extra charge or credit shows up in your payment history.
