Integration · Google Sheets
Chato watches your spreadsheet: when a new row with a phone number appears, the customer gets a message, and the reply lands in the shared inbox together with your other chats.
The problem
Leads from the website, ads and forms land in a Google Sheet, and then someone has to open it, copy the number and write by hand. That takes hours, and in the meantime the customer goes to whoever replied first.
Connect the spreadsheet once — Chato will check it on its own. As soon as a new row appears in the sheet, the platform takes the phone number from it and sends the customer a preset message: from a regular WhatsApp number or as an official template via the WhatsApp Business API.
The customer's reply does not disappear into nowhere: the conversation opens in the shared Chato inbox next to your other chats, the whole team can see it, and it can be handed to a manager. If the AI assistant is on, it picks up the conversation itself — asks about the line of business, the task and the budget, and calls in a person when the customer is ready to talk specifics.
It works the other way too. Chato can append the people the AI has already qualified to the spreadsheet: you set the columns yourself in the settings, and the date is written in the workspace time zone. The result is a closed loop: a lead from the spreadsheet — a message — a conversation — back to the spreadsheet, now with the answers.
A lead comes in — the customer gets a message within minutes, not whenever someone gets around to the spreadsheet.
Name, service, city — any fields from the row are inserted into the message text.
You can write from your business WhatsApp or with an official Meta template if the list is cold.
The conversation opens next to your other chats, the team can see it, and it can be handed to a colleague.
The assistant qualifies the customer and calls in a manager when the conversation gets down to business.
Qualified customers are appended to the spreadsheet — with the columns you have set.
In the integrations section, allow Chato access to the spreadsheet you need — only to it, not to your whole Drive.
Chato takes the number from the selected column and converts it to international format on its own.
Plain text for a business number, or an approved template if you send via WABA.
Add one test row with your own number to the spreadsheet and make sure the message arrives.
Almost any will do: +7 777 000 00 00, 87770000000 or with a prefix like p:+7777.... Chato cleans up the value and converts it to international format on its own.
Nothing is sent to them. Messages go only to rows that appear after you turn it on — so you do not accidentally write to your whole list at once.
Only through the official WhatsApp Business API with a Meta-approved template. Bulk first messages from a regular QR number lead to a ban — that is a WhatsApp rule.
Regularly, in the background. In practice, minutes rather than hours pass between a row appearing and the message being sent.
No. You connect by simply signing in to your Google account, and the message text and columns are chosen in the interface.
The first 3 days are free, no card needed. Connecting channels takes about half an hour.
