WhatsApp, Instagram and Telegram inside Bitrix24

Chato connects messengers and telephony with Bitrix24: a lead or deal is created automatically, the conversation is visible in the card, and a robot at a pipeline stage writes to the customer directly on WhatsApp.

The problem

A manager handles the customer on WhatsApp from a personal phone and the deal in Bitrix24. The CRM is empty, the messenger has no history, the head of sales cannot see a single conversation, and when an employee leaves, the chats leave with the phone.

Bitrix24 is good at tracking deals, but on its own it cannot receive WhatsApp, Instagram Direct or comments under posts. Yet that is exactly where customers write. Chato closes this gap: all channels connect to Chato, and what matters for sales goes to Bitrix24 — a new lead or deal, the contact, the conversation history and calls.

The integration works both ways. A customer writes on WhatsApp — a lead or deal appears in Bitrix24 with the number, name and first message. A manager replies from the deal card — the message goes out on WhatsApp from the company number. And in the Chato chat itself you can see which deal the customer is linked to, what stage it is at and who owns it.

It works the other way too: the “Send a message via Chato” robot writes to the customer in the messenger at the right pipeline stage — a booking confirmation, a reminder, a request for a review. No developer is needed for this; the robot is set up in the Bitrix24 interface on plans that include robots.

What Chato and Bitrix24 give you together

Leads are created automatically

The first message from a new customer becomes a lead or a deal with a contact — in the right pipeline and at the right stage.

Conversations in the card

Every message is saved in the timeline of the lead, deal or contact — visible a year later and after the manager has left.

Reply right from the CRM

A Chato tab in the Bitrix24 card: the manager writes to the customer, and the message goes out via the company's WhatsApp, Instagram or Telegram.

A robot in the pipeline

Sending a messenger message as a pipeline step: a confirmation, a reminder, a review request.

Calls in the card

A call through Chato IP telephony lands in the card as an activity: who called, how long they talked, whether it was missed. The call recording is stored in Chato.

The deal is visible in the chat

The Chato chat shows the deal stage and owner, and a button opens the card in Bitrix24.

Frequently asked questions

Which Bitrix24 plan do I need?

Leads, deals, conversations in the card and calls work through the portal's open API. The robot for sending messages is only available on Bitrix24 plans that include robots — without it everything else works the same. In Chato you only pay for connected channels.

Do I need the official WhatsApp Business API?

No. A regular business number connects with a QR code in a few minutes. You only need the official WABA if you plan to send bulk broadcasts — it can also be connected in Chato.

What happens to the conversations if a manager quits?

They stay. The history is kept in Chato and in the Bitrix24 card, not on the employee's phone. An employee's access to chats is removed under “Employee roles” — the “No access” role.

Can I message a customer first from Bitrix24?

Yes, using the phone number from the card: if there is no number, the Chato tab will ask you to enter one. On Instagram you cannot write first — only reply. Through the official WhatsApp Business API, a customer who has not written in the last 24 hours can only be sent an approved template — that is Meta's rule, not a Chato limitation.

How long does setup take?

It is a few steps with no developer: connect channels, install the app on the portal and choose for each channel what to create — a lead or a deal, in which pipeline and whom to assign as owner.
